La trilogie The Banner Saga est sortie sur une intervalle de six ans : on pourra facilement comprendre à quel point elle est importante pour Austin Wintory. Si on peut écouter les deux premiers volets pour leurs ambiances, le troisième s'apprécie vraiment pour sa technique et sa maturité. Austin Wintory accentue la pression à grands renforts de cuivres et n'hésite pas à aller vers la cacophonie ("Steel flowing as water") et même la dissonance ("Blades sing from below"). La meilleure des trois !

Tant de questions dont la réponse reste hors de notre portée : le Bien a-t-il une valeur ? Qu'est-ce que le Beau ? Comment peut-on dire non à Austin Wintory ? Remnants compile des démonstrations destinées à des studios qui lui ont claqué la porte au nez. De fait, c'est un excellent tour d'horizon de ses talents : symphonies vikings et celtiques (le duo "Axes upon Shields" et "Shields against Axes"), musiques folkloriques et carnavalesques... 100% devaient disparaître, elles sont 100% géniales !
